History
The hotel was built in the early 20th century as part of the development of tourist infrastructure in this picturesque mountain range. It originally served as a cozy mountain guesthouse for travelers and nature lovers.
Over the years, it has undergone several renovations to meet modern requirements for comfort and services, while preserving its historical charm and traditional architecture. Today, it offers the ideal setting for relaxation and an active holiday in the heart of the Sumava and its nature.
The history of our restaurant dates back to 1837. It is the original restaurant "U Krále Šumavy" from the film King of the Šumava from director Karel Kachyňa.

The village of Kvilda is one of the highest situated villages in the Czech Republic being 1065 metres above sea level. It is surrounded by extensive forests, peat bogs and mountain meadows, which offer great opportunities for hiking, cycling and cross-country skiing.
